This holiday season and every day I am grateful for the 'creature comforts' so many take for granted like heat when it's cold, clean, running water, refrigeration, a bed to sleep on and a roof over my head. I am grateful I can stand on the word "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Phil. 4:13)and that I've been given the opportunity to work on behalf of the worlds orphans and vulnerable children. On the Cry of The Orphan website I learned "...More than 140 million orphans worldwide…15 million children orphaned due to AIDS…500,000 children in America’s foster care system…127,000 children in the US waiting for adoptive homes."

The numbers are mind boggling but I know that one person can make a difference and each of us can be that one person!

1. Caring for orphans matters to God because it resembles our relationship to Him. We're helpless without Him, and orphans are helpless without our voice.

2. I'm so very very thankful for a loving and forgiving God. I am thankful He knows my heart.

3. I facebooked.

4. ONE of my favorite scriptures is 2 Tim. 1:7...for the Lord did not give me a spirit of timidity, but of power, of love, and of self-discipline.

I am thankful for our Lord and Savior who's love grace and mercy is just so awesome beyond words. I am also thankful for my family. I could not imagine my life without them.

My favorite Bible verse is James 1:2-3 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.

I blogged it here:

I also slapped it on my facebook:

On the Cry of an Orphan Website I learned that there is a movement of an increasing number of churches and evangelical organizations worldwide who are coming together as one voice to not only raise awareness but more importantly to mobilize the body of Christ to take action on behalf of the orphan.

God bless everyone on this Thanksgiving day, I hope that everyone remembers what they are truly thankful for.
