Tube Day for Paige

Paige has had a very hard winter and had an ear infection from October until February. So we decided with the doctors that tubes were in need (also hoping it helps with her breathing problems she gets).

We talked and talked to her about what was going to happen today and she was excited. The nurse couldn't believe her pulse rate because she said kids are never that calm coming in.

We decided to have it done at a children's hospital a couple of hours away and I am soooooo glad we went there. As soon as they got Paige in the room they brought in toys for her to play with. Then they let her drive a power wheels Jeep around the outpatient surgery area while we were waiting.

A dog even came into visit her about 5 minutes before surgery time.

Then several nurses came to pick her up and she got to drive the Jeep into the operating room. They came in 4 minutes after she left the room to tell us she was already asleep because she was so calm about everything. Five minutes later the Dr. came in and said he was done and it went great.
**Hint to any parent taking their child for surgery, please explain to your child what is going to happen. The Dr. was blown away by how prepared Paige was and not scared. The Dr. said most parents don't prepare their children well or don't tell them at all until they get there and it's horrible.
Paige spent 10 minutes in recovery and then they brought her back to us.

About 15 minutes later we were headed out the door. Paige had to get her wheelchair ride in before we could leave the hospital. The poor thing was still half out so I don't even know if she really got to enjoy the ride.

We stopped for lunch at a place we had never been and they brought Paige desert and it was a Rice Krispie treat on a paint palate plate with chocolate, caramel, sprinkles and a paint brush for her to decorate it before eating it. Paige thought this was the greatest thing ever.

So even though our day included minor surgery....... PAIGE HAD A BLAST.

Ten Things That Make Me Happy

No Greater Gift is having a giveaway and to enter you have to post about ten things that make you happy. I love this idea so here goes my list:

1. Worship time alone with just me and my precious Father in heaven.

2. Cuddling with my best friend (hubby) in the recliner and then having 3 kiddos crawl up on top of us.

3. Spending time at our land that God gave us. Our land is the most peaceful place we have ever been.

4. LEMONS......oh anything lemon makes me happy.

5. My little yellow finches that come to visit us every year. I get sooooo excited when I see the first one come back home for the summer.

6. Coffee, coffee and more coffee!!!

7. Nothing brings a smile to my face more than when someone tells me that they are bringing one of God's precious little angels home. Actually this brings lots of happy tears too.

8. Something that makes me very happy is putting together Shoeboxes for Samaritans Purse every year. I get so excited to put these boxes together!

9. Looking for treasures whether it be non-running cars for Chris to flip, Etsy shops that make amazing pieces of art or buying a pile full of stuff at a foreclosure sale that we can clean up and sell.

10. The ocean makes me happy (we are long overdue of an ocean visit) because standing there looking out on the ocean makes you realize how BIG God is and how powerful he is.

I could keep writing and writing but that's all for now. If you want to get in on the very cool giveaway you need to visit No Greater Gift and get your list posted quick.

So Excited!

Do you ever look at yourself and wonder what happened? I have have been thinking this for a few weeks now.

I have been wondering what happened to my house (in desperate need of some fresh paint and updating). Wondering what happened to me that I am completely comfortable going out of the house with wet hair, no make-up and jeans and an old t-shirt. What happened to the Sarah that was so full of energy I was bouncing off the walls.

I have also been wondering who I am. So many of you that follow my blog and I follow yours are these truly amazing Christians who seem to have it all together and are willing to follow God no matter what that means. I like to think I do but if I'm completely honest fear holds me back from sooooo much.

You know what I think happened? How about 4 years of infertility treatments, losing a child we were adopting at the last minute because I was pregnant, 2 very hard pregnancies. Adopting a child we hadn't planned on and walking out in complete faith to do so , having 3 children under the age of 6, taking a huge loss in finances due to the economy and OH THE LACK OF SLEEP having 3 small children.

So next week I am going to begin what I call my 90 Day Journey With God. I don't expect this to be an easy 90 days, I honestly expect it to be a hard 90 days. This is what it will look like for me:

1. Stop following most blogs for 90 day (sorry friends but I have to figure out who I am and not compare myself to other Christians).

2. Have an intense nutrition plan and exercise routine (hubby is doing this with me) so that I feel good and have energy again.

3. Commit to 90 days of time with God everyday and to choose to have God carry my fears during that time.

5. Try to fix my hair and put make-up on to make myself feel better (this will probably be the hardest one to do).

Anyone else want to go on a 90 Journey with me?

Spring Is Finally Here!!!

It has been soooooo nice out this week (I'm going to pretend snow is not in the forecast for tomorrow). We are having so much fun with the nice weather and with some of the perks from my new mommy blogger job at my giveaway blog (have you checked it out yet?)

We have been making cupcakes. Don't these just say SPRING?

We went to play with our friends Tony, Rett, Abby & Laney at the park after Chris got off of work one night.

Below are picture of 2 girls that one of them will surely be our daughter-in-law someday.

Can you tell they are excited to finally be at the park again?

Our little fashion diva swinging. This little one changes her clothes about 10 times a day.

This last picture is of Amaya writing in her new journal. These journals are so cool! Click here to check them out.

Amaya was going to spend the night with grandma and grandpa last night but I had to go pick her up at 10:00 because she wanted to be home. I asked her what was wrong and she wanted to make sure we were not going to go to China without her to get her baby sister, she thought we might leave during the night to go. She informed me that she is big enough to go now and she is praying about it and saving her money to bring her sister home. I told her she better start praying hard.

What's the weather like where your at?

Twins Made In Heaven

Seven year ago this month we were pregnant with twins, one was growing in our hearts in Guatemala and was in my womb. We were so excited that we had finally sent off all our paperwork to bring home a child we had waited for for so very long. We were also very excited that God had given us our miracle baby after my mom fasted for us.

We had planned for "virtual twins" only to have our hearts broken 3 months later when our social worker informed us that they do not allow "virtual twins" and they would not allow us to adopt our baby in Guatemala we had waited on for so long. This baby was ours, we had prayed for this child, bought things for this child and fell in love with this child only to have someone take him away from us at the last moment before we could finally see his face and hold him.

Little did we know God still had "virtual twins" in our future. Nine months after Amaya was born we were shocked to find out we were pregnant again. How could we be pregnant? We cried for 4 years not being able to get pregnant. God finally gave us a miracle and then 9 months later I was nursing, and being careful not to get pregnant but God didn't let that stop him. Our second miracle came just 18 months after our first miracle.

When we found Jaxson and knew beyond a shadow of a doubt he was ours I didn't know what I was going to do because he was only 7 months younger than Paige. How was I going to convince a social worker that God wanted these 2 children to be together. They had already taken our other baby from us what were we going to do.

I decided to look for a Christian agency, an agency that believed God should decided on the age difference and not them. God led me to the most incredible agency ever. If this social worker had said "NO" then our twins made in heaven would not be together.

Unless you have "virtual twins" that are so in love with each other you could never understand the love these 2 have for each other. I don't have experience with "real" twins but I know it couldn't be much different than what these 2 share.

They always want to know where the other twin is at, they know what each other are thinking, they make sure they have twin cuddle time everyday and the first thing they do when they wake up is to peek to see if their twin is still asleep.
I honestly believe these 2 precious souls were together once before in heaven, separated by birth and for some reason put on different sides of the world but God put them back together!!!

This texting thing that most the world has that we don't have....just let me tell you how I feel about it.

Yes, I will make some of you mad (even some family members) but it's my blog and I can say what I want.

I am sooooo sick of this text thing. I know one of these days we are going to have to get text
but really I am sick of it!!!
Everytime I drive anywhere I see people texting rather than watching the road. Do they not know I have precious cargo with me? With one look away you could take one or more of my precious treasures from me.
I'm so sick of people that won't answer their phones anymore, they only take texts. HELLO WORLD there are still some of us that don't spend $20 a month on text packages yet.
People texting in church now drives me crazy. People yell about other people texting in church but these are the same people that are reading those people texts in church. I have a problem with this!!!
Dinner with friends now includes dinner with who knows how many people because everyone but us and our friends Craig and Kari (they live in the dark ages too) first thing they do is lay the phone in front of them so they don't miss a text.
I probably don't have any friends anymore now that I said this (Craig and Kari will still be our friends) but one of these days Chris and I who have very mild personalities are going to be buying someones phone after we throw it across the room.

Gonna Get Real....

Are you ready for me to be completely honest? I am stressing out to no end!

Since we decided we're going to stay in our house for awhile we need to paint and just update things. We don't have the money to do this all the time so when I do it I need it to be good for awhile. I finally decided I wanted to do our diningroom in blue and brown (my husband thinks I'm losing my mind because I've never bought anything blue before). I went to the paint store and I could not decided on a color.

I came home and decided I needed a nap after all the stress and I even dreamed of being at the paint store for hours and couldn't decided on a color.

I decided to look up curtains online because maybe that would help me. The truth is.....grown up decorations are BORING. Really, what is wrong with decorating your diningroom in monkeys?

If I put something like this up people would think I needed on medication but isn't it sooo much cuter than adult stuff. Why do people think you only like monkeys, frogs and fun colors as a kids?

OK, thanks for letting me vent and if your a decorator how about picking out a color for me???

Blog Hop - Favorite Recipes

I am giving this blog hop thing a try. I love looking for new recipes so let's give this a try.

One very easy and yummy recipe I love is:

Cheez Whiz & Tater Bake

1 lbs ground beef (browned)
1 package (16 oz) Tator Tots
3/4 cup Cheese Whiz
1 Cup Thick N Chunky Salsa
1 can kidney beans

Preheat oven to 425 , mix all together, put in a 13 x 9 dish and bake for 20 minutes.

It's so easy and yummy. I like to put sour cream or ranch dressing on top.
