Tube Day for Paige

Paige has had a very hard winter and had an ear infection from October until February. So we decided with the doctors that tubes were in need (also hoping it helps with her breathing problems she gets).

We talked and talked to her about what was going to happen today and she was excited. The nurse couldn't believe her pulse rate because she said kids are never that calm coming in.

We decided to have it done at a children's hospital a couple of hours away and I am soooooo glad we went there. As soon as they got Paige in the room they brought in toys for her to play with. Then they let her drive a power wheels Jeep around the outpatient surgery area while we were waiting.

A dog even came into visit her about 5 minutes before surgery time.

Then several nurses came to pick her up and she got to drive the Jeep into the operating room. They came in 4 minutes after she left the room to tell us she was already asleep because she was so calm about everything. Five minutes later the Dr. came in and said he was done and it went great.
**Hint to any parent taking their child for surgery, please explain to your child what is going to happen. The Dr. was blown away by how prepared Paige was and not scared. The Dr. said most parents don't prepare their children well or don't tell them at all until they get there and it's horrible.
Paige spent 10 minutes in recovery and then they brought her back to us.

About 15 minutes later we were headed out the door. Paige had to get her wheelchair ride in before we could leave the hospital. The poor thing was still half out so I don't even know if she really got to enjoy the ride.

We stopped for lunch at a place we had never been and they brought Paige desert and it was a Rice Krispie treat on a paint palate plate with chocolate, caramel, sprinkles and a paint brush for her to decorate it before eating it. Paige thought this was the greatest thing ever.

So even though our day included minor surgery....... PAIGE HAD A BLAST.

Ten Things That Make Me Happy

No Greater Gift is having a giveaway and to enter you have to post about ten things that make you happy. I love this idea so here goes my list:

1. Worship time alone with just me and my precious Father in heaven.

2. Cuddling with my best friend (hubby) in the recliner and then having 3 kiddos crawl up on top of us.

3. Spending time at our land that God gave us. Our land is the most peaceful place we have ever been.

4. LEMONS......oh anything lemon makes me happy.

5. My little yellow finches that come to visit us every year. I get sooooo excited when I see the first one come back home for the summer.

6. Coffee, coffee and more coffee!!!

7. Nothing brings a smile to my face more than when someone tells me that they are bringing one of God's precious little angels home. Actually this brings lots of happy tears too.

8. Something that makes me very happy is putting together Shoeboxes for Samaritans Purse every year. I get so excited to put these boxes together!

9. Looking for treasures whether it be non-running cars for Chris to flip, Etsy shops that make amazing pieces of art or buying a pile full of stuff at a foreclosure sale that we can clean up and sell.

10. The ocean makes me happy (we are long overdue of an ocean visit) because standing there looking out on the ocean makes you realize how BIG God is and how powerful he is.

I could keep writing and writing but that's all for now. If you want to get in on the very cool giveaway you need to visit No Greater Gift and get your list posted quick.

So Excited!

Do you ever look at yourself and wonder what happened? I have have been thinking this for a few weeks now.

I have been wondering what happened to my house (in desperate need of some fresh paint and updating). Wondering what happened to me that I am completely comfortable going out of the house with wet hair, no make-up and jeans and an old t-shirt. What happened to the Sarah that was so full of energy I was bouncing off the walls.

I have also been wondering who I am. So many of you that follow my blog and I follow yours are these truly amazing Christians who seem to have it all together and are willing to follow God no matter what that means. I like to think I do but if I'm completely honest fear holds me back from sooooo much.

You know what I think happened? How about 4 years of infertility treatments, losing a child we were adopting at the last minute because I was pregnant, 2 very hard pregnancies. Adopting a child we hadn't planned on and walking out in complete faith to do so , having 3 children under the age of 6, taking a huge loss in finances due to the economy and OH THE LACK OF SLEEP having 3 small children.

I NEED TO FIND OUT WHO I AM!

So next week I am going to begin what I call my 90 Day Journey With God. I don't expect this to be an easy 90 days, I honestly expect it to be a hard 90 days. This is what it will look like for me:

1. Stop following most blogs for 90 day (sorry friends but I have to figure out who I am and not compare myself to other Christians).

2. Have an intense nutrition plan and exercise routine (hubby is doing this with me) so that I feel good and have energy again.

3. Commit to 90 days of time with God everyday and to choose to have God carry my fears during that time.

4. PAINT THE HOUSE!

5. Try to fix my hair and put make-up on to make myself feel better (this will probably be the hardest one to do).

Anyone else want to go on a 90 Journey with me?

Spring Is Finally Here!!!

It has been soooooo nice out this week (I'm going to pretend snow is not in the forecast for tomorrow). We are having so much fun with the nice weather and with some of the perks from my new mommy blogger job at my giveaway blog (have you checked it out yet?)

We have been making cupcakes. Don't these just say SPRING?

We went to play with our friends Tony, Rett, Abby & Laney at the park after Chris got off of work one night.

Below are picture of 2 girls that one of them will surely be our daughter-in-law someday.

Can you tell they are excited to finally be at the park again?

Our little fashion diva swinging. This little one changes her clothes about 10 times a day.

This last picture is of Amaya writing in her new journal. These journals are so cool! Click here to check them out.

Amaya was going to spend the night with grandma and grandpa last night but I had to go pick her up at 10:00 because she wanted to be home. I asked her what was wrong and she wanted to make sure we were not going to go to China without her to get her baby sister, she thought we might leave during the night to go. She informed me that she is big enough to go now and she is praying about it and saving her money to bring her sister home. I told her she better start praying hard.

What's the weather like where your at?
