Orchard Fun

Last week I was listening to our local Christian radio station and heard about a very cool orchard to go to. Sunday after lunch we packed up the car, talked Grandma and Grandpa in to going with us and we had sooooo much fun.

THIS IS MY FAVORITE TIME OF THE YEAR!!!

Here is a Etsy shop you need to check out. This is from their shop announcement:

147SpareMoments' Shop Announcement
We're just two moms with alot of kids that are seeking to make our few moments of spare time worth it. Everything we sell here is either made by one of us or one of our children (or maybe even a team effort)! We have some bio kids, but we've also been to Ethiopia and Russia to bring some of our kids home. Who knows where we'll go next...

100% of our profit goes to make a dent in the statistic of 147 million orphans because we believe every child has a right to a family.

When we began this crazy venture, we made a promise to each other that what you see here would be made in our spare time--it would not take over our lives. Whether it's crocheting, sewing or something else we've decided to be creative at, you can bet it came out of a personal need. Whether it be a simple, shoulder purse for a simple mom to throw her simple things into, hats for keeping heads warm or a Man Bag so the boys don't feel left out, each pattern we've concocted has been tested by our families!

You can click here to check out the shop.

Blog That Brought Tears To My Eyes

Last week as I was doing the fundraiser that was a true battle and everything was going wrong I got an email. I opened the email to a mother wanting to have a fundraiser. I wrote her explaining how it worked and asked her when she wanted to have it and she said next week because they are traveling hopefully in the next month. I will be totally honest and tell you that my first reaction was "God I know this is your shop but how am I going to pull another fundraiser off next week." Usually I have a couple of weeks to a month notice to be prepared. I decided to check out the blog and boy did the tears start rolling down my face.

This is the picture I saw that made me cry and cry tears of joy.

You see last winter when I was fighting for little Duncan in my heart I wanted nothing more than to bring home Duncan and Ivy (pictured above). I was so in love with these 2 little kiddos and just didn't understand why they didn't have families and I really didn't understand why God didn't have us in a position to bring them home.

Now almost a year later I open up a blog to a family needing my help and it is IVY"S FAMILY. Not only are they bringing home Ivy but they are bringing home another precious little girl.

TODAY they are fundraising in my shop to help with the cost to travel to bring these 2 beautiful children home. For every pendant sold in my shop today and tomorrow (there was a mix up on the day so we are running it 2 days) that you leave a message at check-out saying it's for the fundraiser $5 will be donated to their grant fund to get these babies home!!!

This is a perfect opportunity to start your Christmas shopping.

Spiritual Warfare

Do you believe in it? I do because I have seen it happen too many times not to believe in it.

So here's the deal, yesterday I was holding a fundraiser for a family and they were doing very good and then my computer totally crashed, lost everything and it couldn't have been a worse day for it to happen.

The very busiest part of the day for fundraisers I was not able to be on to answer questions and to be adding to stock because it was getting low. I have no doubt in my mind that this is because Satan wasn't happy that this was going well for this family.

Thanks to my wonderful brother-in-law I now have my computer back, and it is running better than it did before.

Want to help fight back??? We are extending the fundraiser through today and I will be adding TONS of pendants throughout the day. $5 of every pendant sold today will go to this family to help bring their son home. They are submitting their paperwork tomorrow so they will be traveling soon so let's just bless their socks off.

PS Even if your not ordering will you stand in prayer with us because I believe we need it today.

GOD LOVES THE ORPHAN!!!

What Is Wrong With Me?

I am sooooo not a reader at all. Once in awhile when God really tugs at my heart to fight for the orphan even harder I will pick up an adoption/orphan book to start reading but that's about it.

I caught myself last night reading 2 books at the same time. I'm thinking I must have been knocked out or something because I truly don't think this has ever happened in my life.

The first book I am reading is The Spirit of Adoption. I ordered this after not being able to sleep the night I found this organization. I am totally blown away with this book and how it explains the fight against abortion, what a woman considering abortion goes though, how the church should go about this fight in a whole new direction.

Then I also started reading the book Breaking Free that my friend Jill (the awesome author) wrote about why our bodies get sick, depressed and just not function how God designed them to function. I was hoping to open it up and find the stuff about the detox (I love detoxing because it makes you feel so good). I opened this book and now I can't put it down.

So I go read a few pages in one book and then go read a few pages in another book. I totally thought people that did these things were crazy. I know....your really the smart ones but I have never, ever done it until now.

These are both amazing books if your looking for a good book to read.

Kids Making A Difference

KIDS MAKING A DIFFERENCE - Don't you love when you see kids stepping up to make a difference in this world. It makes my day when I get to support a child making a difference and you can have the chance to do it too. Check out this blog to read this blog about some girls making doll pillows and blankets to raise the money to help and orphan get heart surgery. They are only $11 and you could save them for Christmas.
